Detok ("the app", "we", "us") is a mobile application that lets you watch the videos you have saved in a calm, feed-free environment, with focus tools such as a breathing guide and a Pomodoro timer. We care about your privacy and have designed Detok to keep your data on your device wherever possible.

The following stays on your device only and is never sent to a server we operate (we do not run an account system or a content database):

We use PostHog to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. PostHog collects anonymous product-analytics events such as which screens are opened and which features are used. These events include technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, and an approximate region derived from your IP address.
What we do not collect through analytics:

When you play a saved video, Detok loads it directly from the source platform (YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram) inside an in-app web view. Those platforms may set cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies, which we do not control:
To show thumbnails and titles, the app also requests these platforms' public preview endpoints (oEmbed and preview images). These requests contain the video link you saved and your device's IP address.
If you use the in-app feedback feature, it opens your email app with a message addressed to support@detok.app. If you choose to send it, we receive your email address and your message, used only to read and respond to your feedback.
Detok can show local reminders (for example at the end of a focus session). These are generated on your device and are not sent through our servers.
The initial release of Detok is free and does not process any payments. If paid plans are introduced later, purchases will be handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their own privacy policies; Detok does not receive or store your card details.
Detok is not directed to children under the age required by your local law (for example, under 13 in the US or under 16 in parts of the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Because most of your data lives on your device, you can exercise much of this by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. For analytics data held by PostHog, contact support@detok.app and we will help.
We minimize the data we collect and rely on encrypted transport (HTTPS) and our processors' security measures. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will revise the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, provide notice in the app or on detok.app.
